Position Description

This engineer will work with customers, account teams and product development teams on Cadence s Custom IC software products including:

  • Schematic Capture
  • Analog Design Environment (ADE)
  • Analog (Spectre), mixed-signal (AMS) and RF circuit simulation
  • Cadence Design Framework (DFII)
  • This role will include working with customers in the defense and aerospace industry who have specific requirements related to security. Full security clearance may be required in the future.

    Responsibilities will include:

    1. Conducting technical presentations, technical training, and product demonstrations with customers, including development of customized presentations and demos as required.

    2. Supporting technical evaluations, benchmarks and assisting customers deployment of new Cadence solutions into production design flows. This includes debugging technical software and simulation issues as needed.

    3. Working closely with Sales Management and AE team to identify sales opportunities, prioritize them and help develop winning sales strategies.

    4. Developing an understanding of the customer's needs and also of the competition's technology and sales strategies to create solutions that best meet our customer needs.

    5. Communicating customer requirements and feedback to Cadence product groups and marketing for issue resolution and to improve product features and quality.

    Position Requirements

    Background/Experience:

  • 5-10 years practical hands-on experience using Custom IC software products including schematic capture and simulation
  • Basic understanding of overall Analog and Mixed Signal design flows
  • Ability to debug technical software and simulation issues
  • Working knowledge of Linux OS/environment and some background with industry standard scripting languages
  • Knowledge of Analog Design Environment (ADE), Spectre circuit simulation and Cadence Virtuoso Design Framework (DFII) is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of AMS designer, RF design and/or Photonics is a major advantage
  • Key Skills to Succeed in this Position:

  • Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Aptitude for organization, planning, and presenting
  • Ability to work independently and productively with high quality output and results in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Interest and ability in learning new technologies
  • Open to continued personal development to meet the evolving demands of the EDA industry
  • Some travel will be required and necessary.
